SANTA ANA — November 2, 2026. Santa Ana celebrated the reopening of its historic Main Library on October 24, 2026 after a two-year renovation estimated by the city at $34 million.
What was added
The city’s official announcement lists a new Maker Lab, interactive children’s learning areas, a reworked TeenSpace, more technology, enhanced Santa Ana History Room, new community room and renovated outdoor reading spaces.
Where and when to visit
The Main Library is at 26 Civic Center Plaza. The city currently lists Monday–Wednesday 10 a.m.–6 p.m., Thursday noon–8 p.m. and Saturday 10 a.m.–4 p.m. These are different from older schedules found online during the years before renovation.
A reopening, not full daily access
The announcement describes public return to the building but does not guarantee that every lab or event room can be used without orientation, registration or a reservation. Patrons should check live branch updates and holiday closures before attending.
