NBC Los Angeles / Orange County election results, still unofficial.

SANTA ANA — November 5, 2026. The Orange County election table published by NBC Los Angeles shows Sandra Anda with 4,510 votes (53.64%) and Phil Bacerra with 3,898 (46.36%) in Santa Ana’s City Council Ward 4. The difference is 612 votes in the displayed unofficial tally.

A city council contest, not a mayoral result

Santa Ana voters also cast ballots for mayor and other council wards. Each ward chooses its own representative; figures from one district do not determine the citywide mayoral election. In Ward 2, Benjamin Vazquez was ahead of Selica Diaz in the same election table, while Ward 6 had a separate contest between Isuri Ramos and Giovanni Chavez.

What councilmembers decide

The council votes on municipal budgets, development and land use, public safety priorities and city services. Readers in Ward 4 should follow the county registrar’s updates for their specific ballot contest, rather than using broader statewide party trends to infer the outcome.

Preliminary means preliminary

The displayed count does not establish completion of the canvass. Mail ballots that meet the postmark deadline and arrive by November 10 can still be eligible, along with other ballots subject to verification. Santa Ana’s final result will be determined by official county certification.
